Engagement

May 27th, 2008

Finally, my BIL decided to end his lonely single life which means soon, there’ll be a new addition to the family. The engagement took place on a bright sunny sunday in PJ.

No! I’m not the official photographer but i did bring my loyal deeduaratus for the sake of BIL (mesti dia mintak gambar for Facebook). Ironically, i wasn’t able to capture any pics of soon-to-be bride&groom as i was busy with Mia. Hopefully i could utilize my deeduaratus better on the nikah day, 080808!

So Chor, let’s hope Emi managed to capture the moments of the day.

HDR

May 23rd, 2008

Racun-ed by him, here are my first attempt on HDR. As i do not have any bracket images, i simply snap some quick shots of my living place earlier today. All pics are taken at Pantai Hillpark and mind you, pics are a bit shaky (9 frames handheld – it’s kinda impossible to get nice similar shots) as i wasn’t on tripod as it supposed to be.

English.

May 23rd, 2008

For the past 2 days, i was attending a Minutes Writing training (and NO .. i wasn’t go to any spa). It wasn’t sounds nice but truly it’s a crucial for me. OK i didn’t mean to talk about minutes writing but what i intend to say here is that i learned some important things which are useful in my English writings.

What i’d like to share might sound simple and perhaps most of you already aware of it. Do you happen to know the correct way to use the abbreviation “i.e” & “e.g”.
All these while i’ve been misled. I thought both can be used as “in example” while writing reports/essays but it’s WRONG!
Firstly, you should know i.e. and e.g. don’t mean the same thing and both are Latins. So if you think “i.e” was “in example”, you’re screwed!

Let me get this straight ..
i.e. means “that is”, it’s from the latin “id est”
I like to eat cekodoks, i.e. I enjoy their taste.

e.g. means “for example”, and it’s from the latin “exempli gratia”
I like to eat cekodoks, e.g. cekodok pisang, cekodok labu and cekodok carrot.

Frankly, now only i knew it!

Owh by the way, i supposed you know what “thesis” is but the thing is oftenly, we use it wrongly!
People tend to use “thesis” for long essays/undergrads & post grads papers but it shouldn’t be that way.
Degree : Term Paper
Masters : Thesis
Phd : Dissertation
You see, “thesis” is used only for Masters!

I feel good attending a training where the trainers are well taught on all these instead of standing in front and bla-bla-bla about things that do not interest me while i’m at the back duk tahan mata berkelip² mengantuk.

OK that’s all about it.
